IDD&E Master’s Comprehensive Examination

You will be given a test scenario containing a complex instructional problem. Your task is to design a Response Plan that illustrates knowledge of ISD principles and practices, as well as the ability to apply those appropriately to the given problem. For each possible element in the Response Plan below, you should indicate (1) WHAT – what planning action, or set of actions, is required or should be suggested, (2) WHY – why this action, or set of action, is the best choice, and (3) HOW – how this action, or set of actions, is to be accomplished. Although a training intervention may be most appropriate, you should consider any additional relevant types of interventions. If a particular Response Element is not relevant to the test scenario, indicate that no action is called for, and explain your reasons in the Why column. Priorities are essential. Being exhaustive shows lack of judgment. Fill in what you consider to be the most crucial elements of the Response Plan. The criteria used to judge your response, as well as the scoring scale, are indicated below.
