Course Description:

Use multimedia computers to create interactive presentations. State of the art tools such as PowerPoint, Photoshop, Premiere, Sound edit and PageMaker included. Select content; use of digital cameras, camcorders, color scanners, audio and video capture to create presentation.

Learning Objectives:

The overall goal of this course is to develop knowledge and skill in the use of hardware and software to create digital products. At the end of the course, students will be able to:

  1. Identify different types of digital media;
  2. Identify hardware and software capable of manipulating different media types;
  3. Create digital graphics, photographs, animations and movies;
  4. Integrate a variety of digital media artifacts into a coherent digital product;
  5. Identify performance and limitations of different media types;
  6. Present a digital media product in support of a specific instructional objective.

Dissemination Strategy :

Face-to-face class.

Course Reflection:

This course challenged my creativity and multimedia abilities the most. It really gave me a desire to design and develop instruction. It also increased my interest in the use of technology in ID and specifically computer-based instruction involving multimedia.
